Ice skating adventures

I started ice skating regularly in November 2025. Before that I had only been I think three times in my life. In November 2024 while traveling the country I went skating in NYC and had the thought that it would be a neat hobby to get into. Not thinking about it I moved back to College Station in October 2025 right down the street from the ice rink.

Skating in NYC!

I used rental hockey skates from November - January 2026. When I started group lessons I bought my own pair from a skate shop in Houston, but turns out real hockey skates don’t have as much ankle support as the rentals did so my ability really went down. So after my first group lesson I switched to figure skates and sold the hockey skates.
